Gary Millard
Coach Millard graduated from West
Valley High School of Yakima in 1982, where he ran track and cross-country
before continuing his athletic career for two more years at Yakima Valley
College. His journey continued to Washington State University where he majored
in Chemistry and was manager for the WSU Track and Field Team, graduating in
1987. Having grown up in a household of a track and cross-country coach
and feeling the same calling, Coach Millard became head track and field coach
in his very first year of teaching and head cross-country coach his second
year. Coach Millard came to Eastmont in 1994, where he has taught
all levels of chemistry and math. He took on the head track and
field coaching duties in the spring of 1995 and head cross-country in 2000.
Throughout his 27-year coaching career at Eastmont he has had 24 state
champions and two State Champion Teams, Girls Track and Field in 2002 and
2008. He is married to his wife Ingrid and they have 4
children...fittingly, just enough to make a relay team!
